Right before Thanksgiving, we launched a new look for Meringue Bake Shop online. We got rid of the heavy pink and blue look and have opted for something more natural. If you haven’t visited our site in a while, come on over, take a look and let me know what you think! Our new site has also been optimized for your smartphone, tablet and desktop.

Happy Halloween! This year I made Monster Cookies for all my coworkers. I love these cookies on their own but I spookified them by using Fall M&Ms, chocolate and orange chips from Nestle, a handful of sprinkle confetti and a handful of halloween themed sprinkles. And I topped each one with one eyeball. Ooooooooo spooky!

Lauren, of A Fabulous Fete, was going on vacation and asked if I would do a guest post for her. I happily obliged and put together this Coconut Custard Pie that forms it’s own crust. Hallelujah! I have an ongoing rival with pie crust. So when I heard there was a pie out there that would form it’s own crust, I got to recipe testing and tweaking to come up with the one I shared over on A Fabulous Fete.

I’ve pinned this Pumpkin Peekaboo cake from She Knows back in November and intended on making it for Thanksgiving and then for Christmas and yea, it never happened. I was trying to think of a neat treat for St. Patrick’s Day and the peekaboo cake sprang to mind. So here is my version of the cake all greened up for St. Pat’s Day.

Valentines Day is almost here and you still have no idea what to do. Right? How about a Valentines Day smash cake? You’ve probably heard of smash cakes before. Usually for 1st birthday parties where it’s ok to get cake all over your face and up your nose. But this cake is a version made for bigger kids, and adults alike. And I am going to show you how it’s done!

Something exciting is brewing! A few months ago my husband and I were talking and realized we needed to make a move forward with our business. We talked through a few ideas, what we could do with our (small) budget and what could be done fairly quick. We also had to pick something that would still fit in with how things work now, allowing me to continue working full-time to pay the bills but to have something that can help Meringue Bake Shop grow. So after much research and google searching we found what we were looking for. And we are going to show you what that is this Saturday June 30 at the Orange Farmers Market.
