I’ve been doing this business now for almost 7 yrs (wow really??) and I honestly would not be where I am now if not for social media. If you are a fellow small business owner, blogger, entrepreneur, I cannot stress how important it is to attend networking events. Especially ones that connect you face-to-face with the people who support you online. I attended an event called Girls Lunch Out Sunday at Maggianos in Costa Mesa.

Since Facebook is being a pill about letting folks, who’ve liked my page, actually SEE what I post I thought I’d start doing a weekly “in the mix” of crafts, recipes, videos, articles that I like and would like to share with you.

One of my life long friends is having baby #3 at the end of this month. Her sister and I decided to throw her a baby sprinkle. Just a few friends and some necessary gifts, like diapers, wet bags, etc. It’s her 3rd girl so she is all set in every other department. But we still wanted to get together to celebrate her and the new baby. A baby sprinkle was the perfect way to do that. Read more

Earlier this week, I posted a picture on Facebook of granola I was making and a few people asked for a recipe so here it is. I’ve been making this granola for years. I was looking for a good crunchy granola that would also create chunks. I love chunky granola. I tried many many recipes and ended up mixing up a few, added my own bits and came up with this one. It’s really accommodating. You could even make this nut free by using sunflower butter instead of almond butter and omitting the almonds. Read more

Right before Thanksgiving, we launched a new look for Meringue Bake Shop online. We got rid of the heavy pink and blue look and have opted for something more natural. Happy Halloween! This year I made Monster Cookies for all my coworkers. I love these cookies on their own but I spookified them by using Fall M&Ms, chocolate and orange chips from Nestle, a handful of sprinkle confetti and a handful of halloween themed sprinkles. And I topped each one with one eyeball. Ooooooooo spooky!

Lauren, of A Fabulous Fete, was going on vacation and asked if I would do a guest post for her. I happily obliged and put together this Coconut Custard Pie that forms it’s own crust. Hallelujah! I have an ongoing rival with pie crust. So when I heard there was a pie out there that would form it’s own crust, I got to recipe testing and tweaking to come up with the one I shared over on A Fabulous Fete.
