A Pirate and his Booty

This past weekend we took a break from the Farmers Market so I could have some fun celebrating one of my favorite kids 5th birthday. And I had the privilege of making this little dude a pirate cake to go along with the pirate theme of his big day. I can’t believe I’ve known this kid for 5 yrs now…

This adorable baby….

Learning to walk….

Enjoying his first birthday cake (made by me a loooong time ago)

Is now this BIG kid going into kindergarten!

Time flies by doesn’t it?

Here’s the cake. The birthday boy requested chocolate, peanut butter and vanilla so that’s what he got. Two tiers of peanut butter, chocolate and caramel goodness. It was also the first time I’ve ever seen one of my cakes all sliced up. That was fun too! With accompanying PushCakes as favors for the guests to take home.

Fun Saturday spent down in San Diego. Sad drive back up to OC. In a perfect world, we’d all live in the same cul-de-sac right? Sharing coffee in the morning as the kids rush off to school?

We’ll be back at the Farmers Market on Sunday so come by and see us!

  1. Congrats on bringing your blog back, Kristin! This post is so sweet; love all the cute photos and all your cakes look amazing!

    • Thanks Debbie! Kinda teared up re-reading it too. 🙂

  2. Awesome cake and it sounds so yummy! My niece and nephew had their big 1st and 3rd birthday party last weekend too. Kids parties are the best! We had vanilla cupcakes for the guests and special smash cakes for the birthday kids to dig into. So fun!

  3. That is so sweet! We are fortunate to have you guys in our lives no matter where you live, but that would be wonderful to be on the same culdesac, I’ll keep my eye out. Kylan loves you two!
