Circus is in town!

I created these cupcakes for a woman who was throwing a celebration party for her young daughter to celebrate the end of her chemotherapy. The little girl is allergic to dairy so I made her her own vegan cookies and cream cupcakes (who knew Oreos were dairy-free!). Since she is allergic to dairy and other things, I didn’t want to top her cupcakes with fondant. I found these cute balloon picks at a local cake shop and mini oreo cookies at Target.

For the other guests, I made a combo of chocolate with cinnamon buttercream (Hot Tamale) and red velvet with cream cheese buttercream (Queen of Hearts) and decorated those with fondant cut outs of circus animals. Yes that is an alligator in there. What? Alligators aren’t at circuses?

I also complimented the fondant cutouts with plastic clowns. I was worried they might look creepy but I think they ended up looking really cute! The little red car on the cupcakes is supposed to be a clown car. Details done by my artistic husband and the most awesome edible pen by Americolor. Don’t even bother with the Wilton edible markers. These Americolors are well worth the money!

So that was part of my weekend on top of baking more cupcakes for Bliss. When I arrived on Sunday, they were almost sold out of Queen of Hearts. I arrived just in time! 😀 I also spent part of Saturday getting a membership to Restaurant Depot. I could have spent hours in there just taking it all in but they were closing soon so I had to rush through.

My friends Dede and Amy stopped by for a visit on Saturday to enjoy some cupcakes, coffee and yogurt.

It was really great to have friends come out and support me. I really appreciate it and their enthusiasm. They’ve been with me through out this journey and I was happy to share it with them.

I almost met up with Cyndi too but our times crossed. She is coming back down in a few weeks so hopefully we can meet up then.

Tonight I will be working on an order for the wonderful AngryJulie to deliver to her tomorrow. And I need to find some time to start working on my Mother’s Day ideas! I can’t believe May is already here!

My logo is almost complete. I am so excited about it!! I hope you all like it too! Tanya from Design Action Studios has done a great job of conveying what I want.

Til we talk again!

And don’t forget! Meringue Bake Shop cupcakes are now being sold at Bliss in Orange.
