mini cupcakes

Today is the day!

Today I will be driving up to LA with over a thousand cupcakes in tow for the LA Cupcake Challenge. Weeeeee! If you are going, don’t forget to come by and put your name into our raffle! And if you come in the first hour, you’ll get your name in there twice!

Wish us luck!

Can I get a woot woot?? LA Cupcake Challenge baby!

Who would have thought that less than a year after I became an official business, I’d be participating in THE LA CUPCAKE CHALLENGE?!?!

That’s right readers! I’m doing it! I went back and forth for a while but, with the support of my friends, I’ve decided to just go for it. I am not going to lie. I am a little nervous. Not really about competing but about baking all those cupcakes!! 1100 to be exact. Crazy right? Give me strength! LOL

So here is the info…
Date: Feb 20, 2010 Time: 12p-3p Where: Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood
Cost: $40 per person
But for that price you’ll get at least 40 mini cupcakes. That’s if you don’t go back to one of the tables for seconds, if you dare! They will also have a DJ, photo booth, free milk and coffee, and a cash bar. And attendees get ballots too!

There are two categories to compete in – Traditional and Original. And I believe there will be a People’s Choice category as well.

So which cupcakes am I bringing? Well, it’s secret. It’s not one of the flavors on my menu. It’s two brand new flavors! Don’t worry! I’ve put them in front of my own personal panel of judges and these two new flavors were voted the best of the bunch. If you want to know, you’ll just have to show up!

To get your tickets, visit www.drinkeatplay.com/cupcakechallenge/.
Are you on Facebook? RSVP on their group site (you’ll still need to buy tickets though)

If you are near by, I would LOVE for you to come and support Meringue Bake Shop. I’m playing to win! I’m not baking all these cupcakes for nothin! Come cheer me on!

Even if you aren’t near by, I’d still love your support and cheer! Blog and/or tweet about it. Spread the Meringue Bake Shop love! That will make me very swirly. Awwww…

Halloween Cupcakes 2009

Halloween Cupcakes, originally uploaded by kristin_a.

Happy Halloween! Sorry I’ve been lax in my updates.

Here are some pictures from an order I received for a party down in San Diego last weekend. The order was for 7 dozen in 3 flavors. The party had 40 RSVPs. At 7 dozen, that gave each guest 2 cupcakes.

And then the cupcakes were accompanied by a giant cupcake topped with a spider web and spiders and dripping cream cheese buttercream. Ewwww.

Halloween Cupcakes

These were really fun to make. I love baking during holidays because you really have an opportunity to make something fun and different and everyone goes along.

Hope you have a Happy Halloween!

Retro Bridal Shower Mini Cupcakes

Check out these cute bridal shower cupcakes! The FAB Jen from theBlahblahblahger.com contacted me about an order for mini cupcakes for a bridal shower she was hosting. The theme was Retro Housewife. I found these cupcake toppers on Etsy but at 3″ they were too big so I asked for a custom order to make them 2″. I was worried they might still be too big but they were perfect! And so freakin cute and right on theme. The other dozen were decorated in red and pink polka dots. The two flavors were Tea Time and XOXO.

Thanks for the great pics Jen!
